Smart create is an AI-powered tool that helps you quickly generate cards and diagrams on your Confluence whiteboard. With just a few prompts, you can accelerate brainstorming, organize ideas, and turn early concepts into actionable content.

This feature uses Rovo to create cards and diagrams based on your input, building out your whiteboard for you. Smart create also provides context-aware suggestions, drawing from the content already in your connected Atlassian sources.

By streamlining the process of adding structured content, smart create makes it easier to brainstorm, organize, and visualize your ideas — helping you move from initial thoughts to clear, actionable outcomes faster.

With Smart create, you can:

• Generate up to three cards at a time, each with suggested follow-up actions to help you move your ideas forward.

• Create simple diagrams, including including mindmaps and flowcharts, to visually organize your thoughts.

• Reference existing elements on your whiteboard and all of your Atlassian System of Work content as context, so the AI can generate more relevant and tailored content based on what’s already there.

Smart create helps you move quickly from ideas to action in a variety of whiteboard scenarios:

• Brainstorming new ideas: Instantly generate cards for topics like project planning, team goals, or campaign strategies.

• Creating mind maps and flowcharts: Use prompts to build structured diagrams that organize your thoughts, map out processes, or visualize relationships between concepts. Leverage existing content in Confluence or other documents.

• Uncovering deeper information and detail: Ask smart create to suggest next steps or follow-up actions based on your initial cards or sticky notes, helping you move from brainstorming to execution.

Quickly generate ideas and diagrams with smart create

To jumpstart your brainstorming session, select the Rovo button at the bottom-right of the screen.

• Select Explore ideas to create a set of three cards on topics and content of your choice.

  • Enter a prompt describing what you want to create, such as “marketing campaign ideas” or “new product integrations.”

  • Smart create will generate up to three cards or a simple diagram based on your prompt, placing them directly on your board.

  • Each card will include suggested follow-up actions, helping you move from initial ideas to next steps faster.

• Select Diagram to have Rovo generate a visual diagram. Then select Flow chart or Mindmap.

  • Describe your chart or mindmap in the chatbox.

  • Add links to existing content.

  • Smart create will create a visual representation of your prompt, including colors and shapes that show the relationship between elements.

If you want to build on existing content, reference specific elements already on your whiteboard in your prompt. For example, you can ask smart create to expand on a sticky note or section, and the AI will generate related ideas or structures.

After your content is generated, you can move, edit, or further develop it just like any other whiteboard element, making it easy to refine your ideas and collaborate with your team.
