Race mode in whiteboards

Race mode is a time-trial mini game that allows users to race a car around a virtual track embedded in your whiteboard. This is available as a temporary experience available beginning in November 2025.

• The feature is single player, however you can compare times against your teammates during each session.

• Race times are are not saved after the session ends.

• You must have edit access to the whiteboard to start and participate in a race.

• The track and race elements are inserted only for the duration of the race and are removed immediately afterwards, ensuring no impact on existing whiteboard content.

• This feature is available only on your desktop browser.

Use race mode

• Select the race mode icon at the top of the toolbar.

• Use arrow key controls to steer your car

• Select start time trial to begin your lap.

• See your results and how you stack up with collaborators at the finish line.

• After your lap, keep driving and explore your board in a whole new way.

Turning off the car-racing Easter egg
To disable the Car Racing Easter Egg feature, contact Atlassian Support. There is currently no in-product toggle for end-users to turn off this feature themselves. Support can assist with disabling the feature for your site or organization if required.
