Troubleshooting import multiple Miro boards to Confluence

If you encounter issues during your import, follow these steps to identify and resolve the problem.

Step 1: Check your import summary email

When your import is complete, you’ll receive a notification email with details about what was transferred. The email will list the spaces, pages, and users that were successfully imported. If part or all of your import couldn’t be completed, the email will include a brief message explaining the issue.

5 users couldn’t be imported

Check the missing users' status in Miro and ensure they are not deactivated. Retry importing content that includes these users.

If no users could be imported at all, ensure you entered the correct Miro User Access Token. Follow these step-by-step instructions to verify your token: Import multiple Miro boards to Confluence

1 space couldn’t be created

If possible, make yourself the workspace owner in Miro. Otherwise, ask the workspace owner or a Miro admin to grant you ownership before retrying the import.

11 whiteboards couldn’t be imported, or were imported incorrectly

Tip: If several boards failed, retry the full import. If only a few boards didn’t import, use the Single Miro Importer to import them individually. Import Miro boards in Confluence whiteboards

Go to Miro and re-export the failed boards, ensuring they meet the following import file size and type requirement before retrying import:

Is the file a Vector PDF?

  • To check, open the PDF and zoom in.

  • If the text and graphics stay sharp without pixelation, it’s likely a vector PDF.

  • If the file isn’t a vector PDF, re-export it from Miro in the correct format and retry the import.

Is the file larger than 100MB?

  • Files over 100MB cannot be imported.

  • If your board exceeds 100MB, try re-exporting only the essential parts of the board or exporting the board in smaller subsections before retrying.

Does the board contain too many elements?

  • If the board meets the format and size requirements but still won’t import, it may contain too many elements.

  • Try re-exporting only the essential parts of the board or exporting the board in smaller subsections before retrying.

If the entire import failed:
