Confluence offers a range of text formatting options to help you create clear and visually appealing content. This guide will walk you through the various ways to format your text.

To structure your content effectively, you can use different paragraph styles.
Normal text: This is the default format for the text you add to a page.
Headings: You can assign up to six levels of headings by changing the paragraph style. Headings help organize your content and make it easier to navigate.
Adding emphasis to your text can make important information stand out.
Bold: Select the text you want to emphasize and select the Bold button in the toolbar or use the Ctrl+B (Windows) or Cmd+B (Mac) shortcut.
Italics: Select the text you want to emphasize and select the Italics button in the toolbar or use the Ctrl+I (Windows) or Cmd+I (Mac) shortcut.
Underline: Select the text you want to underline and select the Underline option in the (...) more formatting menu or use the Ctrl+U (Windows) or Cmd+U (Mac) shortcut.
Strikethrough: Select the text you want to strike through and select the Strikethrough option in the (...) more formatting menu or use the Ctrl+Shift+S (Windows) or Cmd+Shift+S (Mac) shortcut.
Code: Select the text you want to format as code and select the Code option in the (...) more formatting menu or use the Ctrl+Shift+M (Windows) or Cmd+Shift+M (Mac) shortcut.
Subscript: Select the text you want to format as subscript and select the Subscript option in the (...) more formatting menu or use the Ctrl+Shift+, (Windows) or Cmd+Shift+, (Mac) shortcut.
Superscript: Select the text you want to format as superscript and select the Superscript option in the (...) more formatting menu or use the Ctrl+Shift+. (Windows) or Cmd+Shift+. (Mac) shortcut.
You can change the appearance of your text to improve readability and visual impact.
Text color: Select the text you want to color, select the Text color button in the toolbar, and select your desired color from the palette.
Text highlighting: Select the text you want to highlight and select the Highlight button in the toolbar.
Text alignment: Use the toolbar's alignment buttons to move your text to the left, center, or right.
Organizing your text with indentations and lists can improve the structure and clarity of your content.
Indenting: To indent text, use the Indent button on the toolbar or press the Tab key. This works for both blocks of text and bulleted or numbered lists.
Outdenting: To outdent text, use the Outdent button on the toolbar or press the Shift+Tab key combination. This also applies to blocks of text and lists.
Bullet lists: Use the Bullet list button in the toolbar to create bulleted lists.
Numbered lists: Use the Numbered list button in the toolbar to create numbered lists.
