Charts and connected data

Visualizing table data as dynamic charts can make your information easier to review, monitor, and present. Here’s how you can create and customize charts from your table data:

Inserting a chart

Inserting a chart from a simple 4 column table
  1. Select the table you want to visualize.

  2. Select the Insert chart option in the floating toolbar.

  3. A new chart will be added below the table. You can then customize the chart you want to create.

Customizing chart options

You have many options for how table visualizations are presented.
  1. Select your chart to customize.

  2. Select Chart options in the floating toolbar.

  3. Customize your chart by adjusting settings. Each chart type has its own unique customizations.

Managing charts

Adjust chart width: You can change the chart's width to be centered, wide, or full-width.

Remove charts: To remove a chart, select it and click the trashcan icon in the floating toolbar. This action will not delete the source table.

Keeping charts linked to source data

  • Charts are linked to their source table, so changes you make to the table will reflect in the chart.

  • If you want to show a chart but hide the source table, use the Expand macro to hide the table within an expandable section.

By visualizing your table data, you can transform raw data into informative and visually appealing charts, making it easier for users to interpret and analyze the information. If you decide to split this section onto a new page, ensure the instructions and tips remain clear and accessible for users seeking to create and manage data visualizations in Confluence Cloud.
