WebGL is a capability available in all modern browsers which enables high-performance rendering.
To check if your browser supports WebGL - follow this link and the steps provided.
Advanced rendering might not be available due to your company's security policies. If this is the case, please contact your IT team for assistance.
Chrome & Microsoft Edge browsers fully support WebGL.
Ensure your browser is updated to the most recent version & ensure hardware acceleration is enabled to prevent any issues.
Navigate to about:config
Search for webgl.force-enabled and toggle this preference to true
Search for webgl.disabled and toggle this preference to false
Restart your Firefox browser to apply these new settings
Error screens
If you see the “Update your display driver” error, hardware acceleration will likely be disabled. To fix this, follow the steps above.
If you consistently see “Looks like you’re offline. We’ll sync any offline changes when you’re back.” You may need to contact your IT team to whitelist *.atlassian.com or ensure http://canvas-workers.atlassian.com/ is on your allowlist and that web-sockets protocols are allowed. To check your compatibility with the whiteboards editor, use our compatibility check tool.
Slow performance
If your application is slow - it is likely WebGL is not enabled & installed or hardware acceleration has been turned off.
