The core concept of services remains in Jira Service Management, but there are key differences in how they are managed after migrating from Opsgenie. While most functionality remains similar, there are changes in service creation, updates, and syncing behaviors that users need to be aware of.

Opsgenie services are synced with Jira Service Management’s Service Registry.
Are there required actions for full workflow parity?
Yes. External services are no longer supported as a separate category and will be listed as regular services in Jira Service Management until Opsgenie is permanently turned off.
Services in Jira Service Management
In Jira Service Management, services are managed within the Service registry, where users can access and modify both internal and external services. All Opsgenie services are automatically synced to Jira Service Management, meaning no manual migration is required.
You can view your services from Projects > Service project > Operations > Services.
External services are no longer a separate category in Jira Service Management. Instead, they are listed as regular services in the Service registry until Opsgenie is permanently turned off. Additionally, services in Jira Service Management are fully integrated with incident, change, and problem management workflows, ensuring a smooth transition for IT teams.
