Get started with Opsgenie as a user
Learn how to configure your profile, get notifications from Opsgenie and view on-call schedules.
Opsgenie has a specific alert plugin for Graylog. Use this plugin for Graylog to send stream alerts to Opsgenie with detailed information. Opsgenie acts as a dispatcher for Graylog alerts, determines the right people to notify based on on-call schedules– notifies via email, text messages (SMS), phone calls and iPhone & Android push notifications, and escalates alerts until the alert is acknowledged or closed.
This article explains integrating Graylog with a plugin, which is a standard procedure for Graylog v2 and earlier versions.
When an alert is created in Graylog, an alert is also created in Opsgenie automatically through the integration.
Download the appropriate version of plugin according to your Graylog version.
Copy the .jar file into your plugins folder, as explained here.
Restart graylog-server.
You can add this integration from your team dashboard
If you're using Opsgenie's Free or Essentials plan, or if you’re using Opsgenie with Jira Service Management's Standard plan, you can only add this integration from your team dashboard as the Integrations page under Settings is not available in your plan.
Adding the integration from your team dashboard will make your team the owner of the integration. This means Opsgenie will assign the alerts received through this integration to your team only.
To do that,
Go to your team’s dashboard from Teams,
Select Integrations, and select Add integration.
Follow the rest of the steps to complete the integration.
Go to Settings > Integrations. Search for Graylog and select Add.
Specify who is notified of Graylog alerts using the Responders field. Auto-complete suggestions are provided as you type.
Copy the integration API Key. Use this in the Graylog configuration.
Select Save Integration.
In Graylog, go to Alerts page and select Manage Notifications.
2. On Manage Notifications page, select Add new notification.
3. Under Notification Type, select Opsgenie alarm callback and click Add alert notification.
4. Click Save.
5. Paste the API URL copied previously into Opsgenie API Url field, and the API key copied previously into Opsgenie API Key field. Optionally, specify Priority, Teams, and Tags here also.
6. Click Save.
