Integrate Opsgenie with StatusCake

What does Opsgenie offer StatusCake users?

Use Opsgenie’s StatusCake integration to send alerts to Opsgenie’s API, with detailed information. Opsgenie acts as a dispatcher for StatusCake alerts, determines the right people to notify based on on-call schedules– notifies via email, text messages (SMS), phone calls, and iPhone & Android push notifications, and escalates alerts until the alert is acknowledged or closed.

Functionality of the integration

  • When an alert is created in StatusCake, an alert is created automatically in Opsgenie.

  • The Opsgenie alert is closed automatically when StatusCake down alert is cleared.

Add StatusCake integration in Opsgenie

If you're using Opsgenie's Free or Essentials plan or if you’re using Opsgenie with Jira Service Management's Standard plan, you can add this integration from your team dashboard only. The Integrations page under Settings is not available in your plan.

  1. Go to Teams and select your team.

  2. Select Integrations on the left navigation and then select Add integration.

Adding the integration from your team dashboard will make your team the owner of the integration. This means Opsgenie will assign the alerts received through this integration to your team only. Follow the rest of the steps in this section to set up the integration.

  1. Go to Settings > Integrations. Search for StatusCake and select Add

  2. Specify who is notified of StatusCake alerts using the Responders field. Auto-complete suggestions are provided as you type.

  3. Copy the API Key.

  4. Select Save Integration.

Configuration on StatusCake

  1. In StatusCake, from the left navigation, select "Integrations" under "Contacts".

  2. Select Opsgenie as "Type" under "ADD NEW 3RD PARTY SERVICE" option.

  3. Paste the API key copied previously into the "Key" field.

  4. Fill "Teams" field if you would like to assign a team for the notifications coming from StatusCake.

  5. Fill "Alias" field. You will refer to this integration via this alias in Status Cake.

  6. Save the integration by clicking on "ADD NEW 3RD PARTY NOTIFICATION SERVICE" button.

  7. From the left navigation, select "Create Group" under "Contacts" tab.

  8. Fill the contact details and select the alias you selected for Opsgenie integration for "Push Notification" field.

  9. Click on "CREATE NEW CONTACT GROUP" button to save the contact group.
