End of sales and support for Opsgenie

Atlassian will discontinue new sales of Opsgenie on June 4, 2025 and end support for Opsgenie on April 5, 2027. Read the full announcement and learn about next-generation incident response options via Jira Service Management and Compass.

Opsgenie mobile app after migration

After migrating from Opsgenie, users will need to transition to the Jira mobile app to continue receiving alert notifications and managing incidents on the go. Most core functionalities remain the same, but there are some UI updates, notification changes, and feature differences that users should be aware of.

Migration summary

Is this feature fully available in all Jira Service Management and Compass plans?

You can use the Opsgenie mobile app until your Opsgenie is permanently shut down. This happens either automatically 120 days after migrating your Opsgenie data to your destination product, or you manually turn it off before that. Make sure your users switch to the Jira mobile app before that to keep receiving push notifications for alerts.

Is this feature auto-synced after data migration?

No. You’ll need to copy your notification rules to your Jira mobile app, however if you’re migrating to Compass, you must have at least one of the following licenses to access the Jira mobile app:

  • A Jira Software license

  • A Jira Service Management agent license

Are there required actions to continue receiving alert notifications?

Yes. You must replicate your Opsgenie alert notification rules in the Jira mobile app to ensure you continue receiving critical alerts. You can refer to your Migration Guide to do this automatically.

What has changed?

  • Opsgenie mobile app is no longer supported – You must switch to the Jira mobile app for mobile alerting.

  • Alert notification settings must be manually configured in the Jira mobile app to match Opsgenie preferences.

  • Insistent notifications aren’t available in the Jira mobile app – you may experience differences in notification behavior.

  • New ringtones are available in the Jira mobile app – previous Opsgenie ringtones are no longer supported.

  • Certain features from Opsgenie, such as Services and Directory, aren’t available in the Jira mobile app at this time.

How to configure alert notifications in the Jira mobile app

To continue receiving alerts as before, you need to set up notification rules in the Jira mobile app.

  1. Open the Jira mobile app and log in.

  2. Go to Settings > Notifications.

  3. Configure alert notification rules similar to how they were set up in Opsgenie.

You can also duplicate your existing notifications from your Migration Guide.
