How migration changes when working with an Atlassian partner
Migrating Opsgenie through an Atlassian partner follows a slightly different process compared to customer-managed accounts. Instead of selecting a migration plan yourself, your partner will work with Atlassian to determine the best product and plan for your organization.
Once your partner approves the migration plan, you’ll be able to proceed with scheduling your migration date.
How migration works with an Atlassian partner
Are you working with different partners?
If your destination product (Jira Service Management or Compass) isn't already set up under an Atlassian partner, you must complete this setup before migration or requesting a quote.
If your Jira Service Management or Compass subscription is managed by a different partner than your Opsgenie subscription, the system will retain the existing partner for Jira Service Management or Compass after migration.
If your Opsgenie account or your destination product (Jira Service Management or Compass) is managed by an Atlassian partner, your migration process will follow these steps:
Decide on your migration plan
You and your partner review your migration options and select the best Jira Service Management or Compass plan based on your Opsgenie setup.
You can share the recommendation shown in your Opsgenie with your partner to help them make an informed decision. Go to Settings > Migrate Opsgenie to view your recommended plan. Your recommended plan helps ensure minimal feature loss and provides the best match based on your current Opsgenie configuration.
Partner approves billing
Your partner works with Atlassian Customer Advocates to request a quote for your selected product, plan, and number of users. Once the quote is approved, your migration plan will be automatically approved.
Schedule your migration
Once your partner has approved the billing, the Plan your migration button in Opsgenie will be activated. At this stage, your migration plan is already set. You’ll only need to select a migration date and confirm the migration.
Unlike customer-managed accounts, there is no billing approval step required after migration scheduling.
Migration completes as usual
After scheduling, your migration follows the standard process. Your alerts, schedules, and policies will be automatically synced to Jira Service Management or Compass. You’ll gain access to the Migration Guide to help you complete any remaining configuration.

Schedule your migration when working with a partner
Once your Atlassian partner has approved your product, plan, and seat count, you can proceed with scheduling your migration in Opsgenie. Unlike customer-managed accounts, you won’t need to go through a separate billing approval process.
To schedule your migration:
In Opsgenie, go to Settings > Migrate Opsgenie.
Select Plan your migration.
Review the approved product and plan selected by your Atlassian partner. You won’t be able to change the product or plan at this stage.
Choose a migration date. You can schedule the migration at least seven days in advance and up until April 5, 2027.
Review your migration details, then select Confirm and schedule migration.
Once scheduled, your migration will proceed automatically on the selected date. You and your team will receive notifications about the migration seven days and one day before the scheduled date.
