Creating template cards

Turning a card into a template will automatically toggle on the template feature for that card and show a badge on the front of the template card, in addition to the Card Template icon.

You can actively collaborate on this card template and all new card created from the template will show the most up-to-date version. However, cards created by the template before the changes will not update automatically.

Opening the card will also show a the card template banner, and allow you to quickly create a new card based on that template from the card back.

Share a card template with other boards

Card templates are not shared between boards. As a workaround, you can create a new card from the template and move the card to another board. Once the card belongs to the new board it can become a new card template.

Templates on mobile

Card templates created on the web can be used to create new cards on the Trello mobile app. Mobile users have the option to keep or remove a card template's checklist.
