A Trello account on a Standard, Premium, or Enterprise plan (also available during free trial)
AI features enabled for your workspace
Access to Trello on web or desktop (mobile is not yet supported)
How to generate a board with AI
Select Create at the top of any Trello screen.
Select Create board with AI from the menu.
In the full-screen overlay, enter a prompt describing the board you want, or select one of the example use cases:
Organize my to-dos
Reach a goal
Host an event
Plan a trip
Select Submit.
Wait while AI generates your board.
Your new board appears with lists, cards, card covers, checklists, due dates, labels, and a background matched to your prompt.
Your board defaults to private. You can change its visibility after creation.
Privacy and visibility
Private by default — Only you can see your AI-generated board until you choose to share it.
Standard visibility controls — After creation, change the board's visibility settings the same way you would for any Trello board.

Who can use AI board builder?
Users on Standard, Premium, and Enterprise plans with AI features enabled. It's also available during Trello's free trial.
Is AI board builder available in all countries and languages?
Yes. AI Board Builder is available globally.
Can I use AI board builder on mobile?
Not yet. It's currently available on Trello web and desktop only. Mobile support is planned for a future release.
How is an AI-generated board different from a template?
Templates are generic starting points that require manual customization. AI-generated boards are personalized to your prompt and include tailored content like card names, checklists, due dates, labels, and covers.
Who can see boards I create with AI?
Boards default to private. Only you can see them until you change the visibility settings.
What if my board looks too generic?
Add more detail to your prompt. Include specifics like timelines, categories, team context, or deliverables for a higher-quality result.
What if I see an error after submitting a prompt?
Try rephrasing your prompt with clearer, more specific language. Some prompts can't be processed if they're unclear or contain inappropriate content. If generation fails entirely, wait a moment and try again.
Can I edit the board after it's generated?
Yes. Once created, it works like any other Trello board. Add, move, edit, or delete cards and lists as needed.
