Trello Widgets for iOS
Use Trello widgets to quickly add cards to your inbox, complete your to-dos, and much more!
Adding the Trello Widget
The new Trello Widget allows you to quickly create cards on your Inbox or boards, and mark cards as complete.
To create your first widget, let’s start by:
While on your phone’s home screen, hold your finger until you get the ability to edit your apps on the top left
Hit the edit button and select Add Widget
Search for Trello and select it
You can now select what Widget you’d like and its size
Select Add Widget to confirm your selection.
The widget will default to your inbox, allowing you to mark card as complete directly from your home screen, or tap on the widget to quickly add a new card.
Changing the Widget’s list
If you are not an inbox user and you’d like to keep track of a different list under a different board, the widget can also do that! It will reflect your list and board of choice from the quick add menu on your Trello App. Here’s how to change that:
Open the Trello App
Select the boards tab to the bottom left
Find the “ Quick add” menu and tap on the small pencil
You’ll be prompted to select between the inbox or board
Select board
From there, you can select the board and list that the widget tracks, allowing you to quickly create cards and mark them as complete.
Using Siri + Inbox
Siri can now create Trello cards in your inbox via voice commands. Saying “Siri, add a card to Trello” will prompt Siri to ask you for a card name, and the card will be immediately added to your inbox!
Say "Siri, add a card to Trello"
Wait for Siri to ask you for a card name
Give Siri a card name
Siri will confirm the action and the card will be created.
Using Shortcuts + Inbox
If you’d like to have a specific button to create a card in your inbox rather than using Widgets, you can use Shortcuts to create that!
Access your iOS Shortcuts;
Search for Trello on the Search Bar
Tap and hold the Add to Inbox shortcut
Select Add to Home Screen
Go to your Homescreen and Tap the new shortcut
Give your card a name.
You’ll get the confirmation that your card was created in your Inbox!
