Trello Siri capture through Shortcuts

We’re adding the ability for users to invoke Siri much more reliably for adding cards to their Inbox.
To use this feature, the ability for Trello to interact with the iOS Shortcuts app should be enabled, and you must be using version 2025.13+ of the Trello iOS app

Installation and Usage

There are multiple ways to install Siri capture via Shortcuts:

Option 1: Install through the Trello app

• Open Trello and navigate to Inbox.

• Say: "Hey Siri, add a card to Trello". Siri will ask for a card title, and after specifying the title, the card will be added to Inbox.

• This will install the shortcut so that you can add cards to Trello without opening the Trello app in the future.

Option 2: Install through the Shortcuts app

• Open the "Shortcuts" app on your iOS device. This is a default app installed on all iOS devices on iOS 13+.

• Tap the "+" icon in the upper-right corner of the main "Shortcuts" screen.

• Locate and tap on Trello from the list of apps.

• Tap on "Add Card to Inbox", then tap "Done" in the upper-right corner.

• You can now invoke Siri capture without having the Trello app open by saying, "Hey Siri, add a card to Trello." Siri will ask for a card title, and after specifying the title, the card will be added to the Inbox.

• For power users, you can configure this Shortcut with additional rules and details within the Shortcuts app itself.

Using Siri + Inbox

Siri can now create Trello cards in your inbox via voice commands. Saying “Siri, add a card to Trello” will prompt Siri to ask you for a card name, and the card will be immediately added to your inbox!

1. Say "Siri, add a card to Trello"

2. Wait for Siri to ask you for a card name

3. Give Siri a card name

4. Siri will confirm the action and the card will be created.

Using Shortcuts + Inbox

If you’d like to have a specific button to create a card in your inbox rather than using Widgets, you can use Shortcuts to create that!

1. Access your iOS Shortcuts;

2. Search for Trello on the Search Bar

3. Tap and hold the Add to Inbox shortcut

4. Select Add to Home Screen

5. Go to your Homescreen and Tap the new shortcut

6. Give your card a name.

You’ll get the confirmation that your card was created in your Inbox!
