Trello Browser Extension
The Trello browser extension helps you quickly add web content to your Trello Inbox. With a single click, you can create new cards from any webpage, capture important details, and use AI-powered features to enhance your workflow.
Install the browser extension
You can install the Trello browser extension from the Chrome webstore.
The extension is also compatible with other Chromium-based browsers such as Microsoft Edge, Brave, Arc, and Dia. For instructions on installing Chrome extensions in Edge, see Add an extension to Microsoft Edge from the Chrome Web Store.

To sign in:
Select Extensions in your browser toolbar.

Select Connect your account and follow the prompts to log in.
To sign out:
Select the Extensions icon in your browser toolbar.

Add a new card

Whenever you save a card to your Inbox, you’ll also have an option to add a comment, which will be added to the card. Any future dates in the comment will be added as the card’s due date.
The option to add a comment will automatically close after 5 seconds unless you start typing. You can dismiss the modal if you do not wish to add a comment.
Cards created with the Trello extension include a reference to the source page on the front of the card, as well as a link to the original page in the card attachments. Removing the link attachment will remove these references.
Save the whole page
To save the whole page as a new card in your Inbox, select the Trello extension from the Extensions menu in your browser. This will automatically save the page as a new card.
The card will include:
The page’s title and meta description if one is available
A link to the source page
Save an image or highlighted content
To save an image or highlighted content as a new card in your Inbox:
Select the image or content you want to save.
Right-click the image or content.
Select Add to Trello.
The card will include:
Saved images will include the file name or alt text for the title and the title text, if it is available, as the description.
Saved content will include the beginning of the highlighted text, with the full text in the description. If AI summary is enabled, the full text will be included as an attachment.
A link to the source page.
Save a link
To save a link as a new card in your Inbox, right-click the link and select Add to Trello.
The card will include:
The title and description from the linked page. If AI is enabled, the card will contain a summary of the entire linked page’s content.
A link to the source page.
Saving links requires additional permissions. You will be prompted to grant these extra permissions to the extension the first time you try to save a link.
Summarize with AI
For paid users with AI summarization enabled, AI will generate a card title, description, due date, and checklist (if appropriate).
If the page suggests an action, the card title will focus on that action. For example, saving a conference website with the title “Acme Annual Conference” may result in a card titled “Register for Acme Conference”.
Note: Your added comment will also be used as context for AI-generated content.
You can turn off AI from the Add from webpage link in the Inbox menu under More options, or for the whole Inbox in Settings.
Restrictions when saving a page
Companies can restrict the access of any Chrome extension to content on certain websites. If these restrictions are in place, the extension will only be able to capture the page title (as seen in the tab), favicon, and URL. The following note will be included in the card description:
Limited content available
We couldn't capture the content of the page due to restrictions on this site.
