Show a list of Jira issues in Trello
Jira lists let you track and manage a list of Jira issues without leaving Trello. The list contains the results of a customizable Jira Query Language (JQL) query that syncs automatically each time you open the board or refresh the page.
Add a Jira list to a board
To add a Jira list:
Open a Trello board
Select Add another list
Select Add from, then Jira issues
Or, select Add list from Jira issues from the list actions () menu in any normal list.
You can customize what your Jira list contains by searching for a keyword, choosing options from the project, type, status, and assignee filters in basic mode, or by entering a custom search query in JQL mode.
After you pick your criteria, select Insert issues to add the list to your board.
Discover how to use advanced search with Jira Query Language (JQL).
Jira lists are named “Jira list” by default. Rename your Jira list by selecting the list’s name.
Edit the search query or change the sort order
To return a different list of Jira issues or modify the sort order:
Click on the list actions () menu on a Jira list
Select Edit search query
To quickly view the JQL query for your Jira list, hover over Synced from Jira at the top of the list. You can also click on this link to navigate directly to Jira with the specific search query. For guidance on how to customize sorting, refer to the article about JQL keywords.
Sync a Jira list to see changes
Cards in the Jira List are automatically synced whenever the board is loaded or the page is refreshed. However, they won’t update in real-time. The top of the list shows when the last sync happened. Any changes made since then won’t appear until the list is synced again.
To sync a Jira list:
Select the sync () button, reopen the board, or refresh the page in your browser.
Drag and drop to copy cards
Dragging a card out of a Jira list will copy that card instead of moving it. The order of cards in a Jira list is based on its JQL query. By default, it will sort with the most recently created issues at the top.
Cards from other lists on your Trello board can’t be moved into a Jira list. To add cards to a Jira list, edit the search query (JQL).
Hide copied cards
When this filter is enabled, Jira issues that have been copied to the board will be hidden from that Jira list. This filter is applied to each Jira list individually and its effects are visible to all board members.
To hide copied cards:
Select the filter button on the Jira list
Check the Hide copied cards option
To show hidden cards, uncheck the Hide copied cards option.
