Connect Microsoft Entra to Teamwork Graph
Microsoft Entra connects your organization’s people and reporting-line data to Teamwork Graph, so Atlassian can use it to improve Rovo experiences.
What is indexed?
The Microsoft Entra connector indexes people data from Microsoft Entra ID.
User data indexed:
ID
Display name
Email address
Job title
Department
Manager relationship
The connector uses Microsoft Entra as a dedicated people and organization source. It doesn’t index SharePoint or OneDrive content.
Before you begin
This setting controls what people and organization data is synced from Microsoft Entra into Atlassian.
You need organization admin permissions in Atlassian Administration to connect Microsoft Entra to Teamwork Graph.
The Microsoft admin completing setup must also have permission to grant tenant-wide admin consent for the Atlassian Microsoft app in Microsoft Entra.
If SharePoint is already connected and people ingestion is enabled, you’ll need to disable people ingestion in SharePoint before enabling Microsoft Entra. SharePoint can continue ingesting SharePoint and OneDrive content.
Teamwork Graph respects permissions and only uses the synced data according to Atlassian’s Teamwork Graph data, privacy, and usage guidelines.
Connect Microsoft Entra
To get to the setup screen for Microsoft Entra in Atlassian Administration:
Go to admin.atlassian.com. Select your organization if you have more than one.
From the side navigation, select Connectors.
Select Add connector.
If you have more than one site, choose the site you want to connect to.
Select Microsoft Entra, then select Next.
Enter a connector name.
Grant Microsoft admin consent when prompted.
Authorize Microsoft Entra.
Select Save.
After setup is saved, Microsoft Entra starts syncing people and organization data into Teamwork Graph.
If Microsoft Entra is unavailable
If Microsoft Entra is disabled during setup, SharePoint may still be configured to ingest people data.
To enable Microsoft Entra:
Open your SharePoint and OneDrive connector settings.
Go to People data.
Turn off the toggle for Ingesting additional people data.
Save the SharePoint connector settings.
Return to Add connector and select Microsoft Entra.
Once Microsoft Entra is connected, SharePoint continues handling SharePoint and OneDrive content. Its people-ingestion control is locked off while Microsoft Entra is the active Microsoft people source.
