Update a product URL subdomain

The product URL is the URL used to access your cloud products. There are several reasons you might want to update this URL such as a company rebrand or to clarify the purpose of the product. Whether you can update this URL depends on a number of factors. Learn whether you can update the product URL

Update the product URL

You need to be an organization admin to do this, and have at least one paid product.

To update a product URL:

  1. Go to admin.atlassian.com. Select your organization if you have more than one.

  2. Select Products > Product URLs.

  3. For the site you want to update, select Update URL.

  4. Enter the beginning of the new site URL. You’ll need to enter at least 3 characters. You can use lowercase letters, numbers, and hyphens if they’re in the middle of the name.

  5. Select Continue.

  6. You’ll see the list of products that will use the new URL. Select Update to confirm you want to change the URLs.

The update may take up to 5 minutes to complete. You can update the subdomain up to 3 times.

What happens after the URL is updated?

We’ll store the previous URL in your site’s history and redirect all links to the new URL. This means that when people visit old URLs (for example, links to Jira issues and Confluence pages), we’ll redirect them to the new URL.

Make sure you check whether any apps need to be reconfigured or reinstalled after the change. Learn how updating a product URL affects apps

The URL for any sandboxes will not be updated automatically. Recreate the sandbox if you want to change its URL.
