Learn about Atlassian organizations
New to administering Atlassian cloud products? Learn about Atlassian organizations and what it means to be an organization admin.
You need workspace admin permissions in Slack to connect to Rovo.
We encourage you to review your permissions in Slack. Rovo will index every message in every public channel. It will not index private messages (DMs) or private channels.
To get to the setup screen for Slack in Atlassian Admin:
Go to admin.atlassian.com. Select your organization if you have more than one.
Select Settings > Rovo.
Under the Sites tab, next to the site you want to connect, select More actions (•••) and select Add connector.
Select Slack and press Next.
Next, to configure Slack:
Give your workspace a memorable nickname.
Review the disclaimer.
Select Authorize Slack.
A new tab will open to step you through Slack authorization. If you are signed into multiple Slack workspaces - make sure you are authorizing the correct workspace. It can be changed in the top right of the this screen.
Step through the Slack authorization flow.
After you’ve finished connecting Slack:
Public messages will start to show in Search incrementally over the next few hours.
Your team members will see Slack show up as a filter option in Search. If they haven’t connected to Slack from their Atlassian account, they may be asked to connect before they can see results. This is required so Rovo can make sure your teammates only see results they usually have access to.
Depending on the number of messages in Slack, it may take some time for all your messages to be indexed and appear in Search.
