New to administering Atlassian cloud products? Learn about Atlassian organizations and what it means to be an organization admin.
This will erase all data, configuration, apps, and app licenses. It can’t be undone, but you can create new sandboxes at any time. Deleting your sandbox will not delete your product.
To delete a sandbox:
Go to admin.atlassian.com. Select your organization if you have more than one.
Select Products > Sandbox.
Under Actions next to a specific sandbox, select Delete sandbox.
This will erase all data, configuration, apps, and app licenses from all of the sandboxes from this site. It can’t be undone, but you can create new sandboxes at any time.
To delete a sandbox site:
Go to admin.atlassian.com. Select your organization if you have more than one.
Select Products > Sandbox.
Under Actions next to a specific sandbox site, select Delete sandbox URL.
The sandbox transitions into the offline state when:
You delete the sandbox or the entire sandbox site
The sandbox is inactive for 28 days
You can restore the offline sandbox with its data within 30 days. After that, the offline sandbox and all its data will be permanently deleted.
When you add a new sandbox for a product to an existing sandbox site, you can choose a product that already has a sandbox in an offline state. The offline sandbox will be immediately deleted and overwritten by the new sandbox. For example, when you create a Confluence sandbox and then delete it, it will go into an offline state. Then, if you add a new Confluence sandbox to the same site, it will overwrite the existing offline sandbox.
All Jira products on the same sandbox site are linked together as they are part of the Jira family. They share the same platform and can’t be deleted individually. That’s why, when you add a new Jira sandbox to an existing site, all the offline Jira product sandboxes are deleted. For example, if you have a Jira Service Management offline sandbox, and you want to create a new Jira sandbox, then creating the new sandbox will overwrite the offline Jira Service Management sandbox.

Your sandbox lifecycle is linked to your production environment lifecycle, so if your product is destroyed or is no longer on a Premium or Enterprise plan, your sandbox will be destroyed as well. Sandbox data and configuration can’t be restored after it’s deleted.
Currently, the only way to clear all data from a sandbox is to delete it and create a new one.
