Get access to the Atlassian Government environment

Atlassian will work with you to prepare your Atlassian Government Cloud products. We need you to complete a few tasks and provide us with some details to ensure everything is set up properly.

Share your organization details

We prepare your organization with your preferred names and contacts. In addition to an organization name and site URLs, we need email addresses for the first admin and a billing admin.

What to consider for site URLs

A site URL is a unique name + atlassian-us-gov-mod.net. Products added to one site have the same site URL, followed by a path that denotes the product. For example, if a site named acme has Confluence and Jira, the product URLs are:

  • Confluence: acme.atlassian-us-gov-mod.net/wiki

  • Jira: acme.atlassian-us-gov-mod.net/jira

The site URL is present in every URL that links to an object, making it publicly visible. If the URL leaks, a name associated with your organization could lead to anyone to finding out you have an Atlassian product. To avoid this, we recommend that you choose an obscure or a random string for your site URLs.

What we need from you

  • Your organization name

  • A unique name for each site URL

  • The email address of the first person to get access (needs to be on the domain that will be verified in the next part)

  • The email address of a billing admin

Add a DNS record to verify your domain

As part of setup, we verify your organization’s domains so that you have full control over the user accounts that are on that domain.

What we will give you

As part of the verification process, we give you a text record with values you use to update your DNS host.

What we need you to do

DNS ホストに移動し、新しいレコードを追加するための設定ページを見つけます。

  1. Paste the text record sent from Atlassian into the field for a new value. (It will likely be named Value, Answer, or Description).

  2. Your DNS record may also have additional fields where you can enter these details:

    • Record type: 「TXT」と入力します。

    • Name/Host/Alias: 既定のままにします (@ または空白)。

    • Time to live (TTL): 「86400」と入力します。

After you save the record, let us know when you’re done. We will complete the verification process on our end. See how domain verification works

Share your identity provider details

After domain verification, we configure single sign-on so that you can log in through your identity provider. See how SAML single sign-on works

If your identity provider is Okta, you may notice that Okta has a built-in app for Atlassian. We don’t recommend this app because it doesn’t use the correct URLs for our Atlassian Government Cloud environment. Follow these instructions instead.

What we need from you

To initiate configuration, share your identity provider’s name and these values found among its setting pages:

  • Identity provider Entity ID – The URL for the identity provider where your product will accept authentication requests.

  • Identity provider SSO URL – The URL your users will be redirected to when logging in.

  • Public x509 Certificate – The public key we use to verify that your identity provider has issued all received SAML authentication requests. This value begins with '-----BEGIN CERTIFICATE-----'.

What we will give you

We will share two URLs to complete the connection. When you receive the URLs, enter them into these fields in your identity provider:

  • サービス プロバイダーのエンティティ URL

  • サービス プロバイダーのアサーション コンシューマー サービス URL
