Custom tables and columns
Analytics is now Insights
All of the Analytics capabilities of the app remain unchanged. You can continue using your existing dashboards, charts, and smart links alongside the new Rovo-powered features. These features combine work and data context to provide reliable answers, create a shared understanding of data, and build dashboards that your team can depend on.
You must have permission to manage the data source to create custom tables and columns.
You can write and save SQL queries in your data source schema to create custom tables and columns. These are especially useful for saving repeated calculations or defining standard metrics and calculations for your Analytics workspace.
The SQL syntax you use for the queries depends on the data source type.
Also note that you can only use custom tables and columns in visual mode queries. This is because the custom table or column is inserted as a nested SQL statement into the query, which isn’t as straightforward in SQL mode queries.
