Analytics is now Insights
Enterprise admins and users who use Analytics will see that it is now Insights. Here are the answers to some of the questions you may have.
What happened to my data and work from the former Analytics app?
Insights will still retain the tools to visualize data from Atlassian apps and other sources. As an Insights user, you will not lose your existing work or data from the former Analytics app. Your existing dashboards, charts, and embedded smart links from Analytics will be available in Insights.
In addition to the existing capabilities, Insights also brings Rovo-powered features that enable teams to:
Ask questions in natural language and receive trusted answers grounded in organizational data and work context without having to use SQL.
Connect work, knowledge, people, goals, and supported third-party data sources to help create a shared data foundation.
Create charts and dashboards to visualize your data without needing to know SQL.
Organization admins can either choose to stay in the existing Insights experience or opt for Rovo Insights, which will enable Rovo-powered features. Once Rovo Insights is enabled, you can switch between the Insights and Rovo Insights experiences by selecting Go to Insights or Go to Rovo-powered Insights in the sidebar.
We will eventually be merging the two experiences and their capabilities. We will keep you informed in advance before we roll out this change.
What’s changing with the Insights app?
In addition to the existing capabilities from Analytics, here are the key Rovo-powered features in Insights:
AI-powered analytics
Your work context and data context from internal sources, such as Teamwork Graph and Atlassian Data Lake, and connected third-party data sources, such as BigQuery and Databricks, combine to create an analytics layer. This data context powers Rovo, enabling it to answer your analytical questions, create dashboards, write and execute SQL on your behalf, explain data assets and business terms, and surface relevant tables and documentation.
You can go ahead and ask questions about your data in plain English, no SQL required.
Create a shared data foundation
Once you enable the Rovo-powered features and connect your data sources, it will automatically sync metadata, such as table names, column schemas, descriptions, and tags, into a searchable catalog. Instead of hunting across systems, you and your team can find the right data asset in seconds. You can also add curated glossary terms and business definitions to improve your data context.

Connect to data sources for deeper insights
Connect multiple third-party data sources to access all your data assets, metadata, and metrics in one place. This way, you and your team find the information you need faster and more efficiently.

To begin using Rovo-powered features in Insights, reach out to your organization admin to turn on Rovo Insights. You can also choose to retain the existing capabilities that were available in Analytics and turn on Rovo Insights later.
What happens if I choose to turn on Rovo Insights?
You’ll gain access to the Rovo-powered features in Insights, such as AI search, analyses, Data source, and data context.
We currently don’t support the following Analytics features:
Atlassian Analytics dashboards: Analytics dashboards use legacy layout engine, which is currently not supported. You’ll be able to view them, but you won’t be able to create new ones.
Custom tables: Your custom tables from Analytics will be available for queries, but you won’t be able to create new ones or modify them.
Scheduled dashboard exports: Your existing scheduled dashboard exports will continue to run. However, you will not be able to create new exports or make changes to them.
How do the features differ based on my plan?
While Analytics was available only on Enterprise plan, Insights will be available on Standard, Premium, and Enterprise plans.

Can I access the unpermissioned Data Lake in Insights?

Admins in Atlassian Analytics can still give selected users broader access to the unpermissioned Data Lake.
Our organization hasn’t enabled Rovo. Can I still access the Rovo Insights experience?
Insights app’s Rovo-enabled features are currently unavailable to customers who use Atlassian Analytics and do not have Rovo enabled. If you’d like to access Insights and its Rovo features, reach out to your organization admin to activate Rovo for your site. Read how to manage Rovo access
