A step-by-step walkthrough of creating dashboards in Atlassian Analytics: set up data sources, manage access, use templates or build from scratch, add filters/charts, and share via Confluence or email. Support and community help are available.

Follow these steps to create and share your first dashboard:
1. Access Analytics
Open the Analytics app from the app switcher. If you don’t see it, request access from your user access admin.
2. Set up or request access to a data source
Data sources are required to create dashboards or charts. Go to Data sources. If none exist, select Add data source. Only organization admins can add Atlassian data sources (Atlassian Data Lake and Jira Align Enterprise Insights). If you need access to an Atlassian data source, reach out to your Analytics admin.
3. Create a dashboard
Select Create dashboard. Start with a template for quick setup, or choose Blank to build from scratch. Add controls, charts, or other dashboard elements to customize your dashboard. Save your dashboard.
4. Share and collaborate
Copy the dashboard URL to share or embed as a Smart Link in Jira or Confluence (dashboard remains interactive). Share individual charts with their unique URLs. Use comments to collaborate.
5. Automate and publish
Set up dashboard subscriptions to send dashboards in an email on a schedule. Admins can publish dashboards as custom templates for your organization.
