What are work type schemes?

As a Jira administrator, you can group work types into work type schemes to make it easier for your team to select the right type when creating work items in their space. Work type schemes can also minimize the maintenance work required when administering several spaces. 

A work type scheme lets you:

• Set the available work types for a space

• Set the default work type and order of work types when creating a work item

• Share the same group of work types across multiple spaces

As an example, you can set up a work type scheme for your team of developers working in a software space. You can then add the bug and feature work types to this scheme and apply it to any other spaces that contain similar pieces of work.
