Get started with Atlassian Analytics
Learn how to add Atlassian Analytics to a site and understand what you need to query data and create charts.
You must have permission to manage a data source in order to edit its connection details.
If you change the login credentials or host information for your third-party database, you’ll need to update these details in the corresponding data source in Atlassian Analytics. This ensures that your connection and charts querying the data source do not break.
To edit your data source’s connection details:
Select Data from the global navigation.
Select the data source whose connection details you’d like to edit.
Go to the Connection tab.
Update the necessary connection fields.
Optionally, select Test connection to verify each connection field.
Select Save.
If you notice some product data aren’t available when querying your Data Lake connection, you may need to edit the connection to include them.
There is a timestamp that shows when the Data Lake connection was last edited. If you’ve created any new Jira projects, for example, after the recorded timestamp, you’ll need to edit the product selections for the Data Lake connection to include those new projects.
To edit an existing Data Lake connection:
You must be an organization admin to edit Data Lake connections.
Select Data from the global navigation.
Select the Data Lake connection that you want to edit.
Go to the Connection tab.
Select Edit connection.
The process for editing the connection is similar to creating a new one.
Removing product data previously included in a Data Lake connection could potentially break existing charts and dashboards that use the edited connection.
We recommend informing your teammates who manage dashboards that use the Data Lake connection to verify that the dashboards continue to work as expected.
If you’ve moved your database from one server to another, do not disconnect the data source in Atlassian Analytics.
You can modify the existing connection details for the data source to maintain the connection.
To update the connection details with your new database information:
Select Data from the global navigation.
Select the data source whose connection details you’d like to edit.
Go to the Connection tab.
Update the hostname of your database.
If the credentials of the new database user differs from the old one’s, update the Username and User password too.
Optionally, select Test connection to verify each connection field.
Select Save.
