We’re rolling out a new backup and restore experience for customers on the Enterprise plan through a beta program.

Which apps can I back up?

You can back up Confluence and all Jira apps, including Jira Service Management and Jira Product Discovery. Some entities aren’t backed up. More about what data is backed up and restored

Who can back up and restore?

You need to have organization admin and app admin permissions to backup and restore data.

Can I assign a single app to multiple policies?

Yes, you can assign one app to two backup policies. You can use one policy to schedule and store backups in Atlassian storage, and you can create a second policy to schedule and store backups in your Amazon S3 bucket.

バックアップは毎日実行できますか?

Yes, you can run backups daily. You can schedule them to run automatically.

各バックアップはどれくらいの期間保存されますか?

A backup is stored:

  • In the Atlassian storage for 14 days, after which the backup expires and can’t be restored.

  • In your Amazon S3 storage for 30 days, after which the backup expires and can’t be restored.

Jira プロジェクトや Confluence スペースの一部のみをバックアップできますか?

Currently, you can only have full backups, which means all projects for a Jira app and all spaces for a Confluence product.

Can I selectively back up some data?

Yes. Currently, we offer options to include or exclude users and groups, and attachments in your backups and while restoring.

Can I back up apps encrypted by customer-managed keys?

We don’t currently support encryption using customer-managed keys. We’re planning to roll out the capability soon.

Can I use the Jira and Confluence backup managers and the new backup and restore solution to back up data?

Yes, you can use both the tools, but you can’t run backups using both the tools at the same time. The backups will fail.

Can I stop or cancel a backup?

No, you can’t stop or cancel a backup.

Can I deactivate a backup policy?

No, at this moment you can’t deactivate a policy.

Why is there a difference between the backup size shown in the backup details panel of the backup tool and the backup size in your Amazon S3?

When we backup data, we store references of your files and attachments instead of the actual attachments. In the backup details panel of the backup tool, we show the actual size. If you look at the backup size in your S3 bucket, it’ll always we less than the actual size. We do this to reduce the time it takes to back up data.

You can restore backed-up Jira and Confluence app data at any time until the backup expires.

  • For backups stored in the Atlassian storage, you have 14 days from the backup to restore your data.

  • For backups stored in your Amazon S3 storage, you have 30 days from the backup to restore your data.

バックアップはどれくらいの頻度で復元できますか?

特定のバックアップは 7 日間に 1 回復元できます。

どのバックアップを復元できますか?

We recommend you restore only complete backups, although incomplete backups can also be restored. Incomplete backups are missing some attachments in Jira or missing some spaces in Confluence. Backups that are in progress, failed, or expired can’t be restored.

データの復元先にはどのような制限がありますか?

  • To restore your backup, the app should not contain any user-generated data. It can’t contain active, deleted, or archived content. For newly provisioned Confluence products, you need to delete the default personal space too.

  • You can’t restore to an app that has a backup in progress.

  • You can’t restore to an app that has a restore in progress.
