View the summary, calendar, and timeline for your overview

This page refers to overviews, which is a cross-project planning feature for Jira Work Management that’s only available for:

  • Jira Work Management Cloud Premium licenses

  • Jira Service Management Cloud Premium and Enterprise license

  • Jira Software Cloud Premium and Enterprise licenses

Choose how you want to visualize your overview in the summary, calendar, or timeline view.

View your overview in the summary page

The summary page is where you’ll get an aggregated outline of the business projects in your overview. The summary page works almost exactly the same as it does when you’re in a business project, the only difference is that the Recent activity and Related projects tiles won’t be included in your overview. View your overview in the calendar

Use the calendar in your overview to help visualize and plan work. Using the calendar view allows your teams to see when work across multiple projects is due. Learn more about the calendar view.

Here’s what you can do using the calendar in an overview:

In an overview, you’re unable to create items in the context of your calendar view. You can however use the Create button in the main horizontal navigation at the top of your screen. You’ll just need to select the project you’re creating the issue for when creating an issue. Learn how to create an issue anywhere in Jira.

View your overview in the timeline

The timeline view helps visualize the timing, duration, and dependencies of issues within the business projects that are included in your overview. Get an aggregated view of how long work may take in each project and when things will land. Learn more about the timeline view.
