Get started with Jira Work Management
New to Jira Work Management? Check out our guides for new administrators and users.
Moving your work from Trello to Jira Work Management just got easier. You can now directly import data from Trello into Jira Work Management using the Trello importer. The importer directly pulls information from your Trello account, saving you the effort of manually moving data and ensuring the project information is relevant and accurate.
This experience is only available for company-managed projects in Jira Work Management. Only administrators can create and import data. Learn how to import Trello data into a team-managed Jira Software project
If you’re looking to import your work into Jira Software and Jira Service Management, you can do so using a CSV file. Learn how to use the CSV importer
To directly import your data using the Trello importer:
From the navigation bar, select Projects > Create a new project.
From the sidebar, go to More > select Import data.
Select Import to a new business project.
Go to Import from apps > select Trello.
Select the Trello workspace and the Trello board from where you’d like to move your data. Select Next.
Once you select a board, the About the board section will display the number of members and cards in the selected board.
Add a valid email address for each user to import their information into the Jira Work Management project. Select Next once you’re done.
Make sure to provide the correct email address for each user to avoid data loss and to import the right users into your Jira Work Management project. The current release does not support email invites but we’re working on enabling this feature soon.
Note: Users without an email address won’t be added to the project. These users will appear as “Anonymous” or “@trellousername” in the Jira Work Management project.
Name your Jira Work Management project, and select Import.
The Key will automatically be selected for you. You can modify the Project name and Key later in the Project Settings.
The importer will automatically start moving the data from Trello in the background, and the progress bar will indicate the status of your import. Once the data is imported, it will show on the board view as issues in your new project. Learn more about the board view
Contact support if you’re facing any issues with your import.
Importing your data from other tools like Asana, Monday, etc., is coming soon. You can export the data from these products and import it as a CSV file into Jira Work Management. Learn more about exporting from other tools
