Get started with Jira Service Management for admins
Your first stop for learning how to get started with Jira Service Management.
Authentication settings for portal-only customers give you the flexibility to configure different ways to verify your customers. It can be used to reduce risk by allowing you to test and troubleshoot single sign-on configurations before you roll them out to all your customers.
You may want to:
Test single sign-on to confirm the setup before you enforce customers to log in from your help center..
Troubleshoot your SAML SSO configuration so you can log in and troubleshoot your SSO or identity provider integration.
Before testing the single sign-on setting, you must enable password login and disable single sign-on.
You need to be a Jira admin to test single sign-on for your portal-only customers:
Go to Settings > Products.
Under Jira Service Management, select Authentication.
Choose Test single sign-on and select Save.
Select View testing steps and copy the test URL displayed on your screen.
Create a test account in the identity provider connected to your site.
Open a new incognito window in your browser.
Paste the URL into the incognito window.
Log in with the test account.
Confirm you are able to log in. If you experience a login error, contact your site admin to adjust the identity provider’s SAML configuration at admin.atlassian.com and then test again using the steps above.
