Get started with Jira Service Management for admins
Your first stop for learning how to get started with Jira Service Management.
You can link one or more spaces from your Confluence cloud or Data Center site to a service project.
Before you begin:
When linking spaces from Confluence cloud sites, make sure that the Confluence site and Jira Service Management site have the same domain name.
Make sure you or the Confluence group you belong to have the View permission for that space. If you're a Confluence admin, you can check this by navigating to your Confluence space and selecting Space settings > Space permissions > Groups.
To create a new space, you need the global Confluence administrator and Create space permissions in Confluence. To manage these permissions, go to your Confluence global permissions.
To be able to change the view permission of your knowledge base to Anyone and enable anonymous access, you need the Confluence administrator permission and a paid Confluence plan (Standard or above). If you don’t see or can’t select the option Anyone, please ask a Confluence administrator to enable the global anonymous access settings. Learn more about setting up public access.
To link spaces from Confluence Data Center sites, you’ll need to use app links to link the Data Center site to Jira Service Management Cloud. Learn more about using app links.
To link one or more spaces from your Confluence site to your service project:
From your service project, go to Project settings > Knowledge base.
Select Link spaces.
Select the Confluence site of your choice.
Select the spaces you want to link to your service project.
Select Link.
You can also create a space directly from your service project and link it to your knowledge base. To do so:
From your service project, go to Project settings > Knowledge base.
Select Create space.
Select the Confluence site in which you want to create the space.
Choose a name and key for your space.
Select Create.
You can only link spaces from a single Confluence site at one time to a service project. To create and link spaces from a different site, you’ll need to unlink the spaces you’ve linked to your knowledge base from the current Confluence site.
