Connect Jira Software to Snyk so your team can view security containers (called targets in Snyk) and vulnerabilities (called security issues in Snyk) in Jira Software, as well as triage those vulnerabilities and quickly link them to Jira issues.
Install the Snyk Security for Jira Cloud app from the Atlassian Marketplace to connect Snyk to your Jira Software site.
You need site administrator permissions to install an app.
From the top navigation, go to Apps > Explore more apps.
Search for Snyk Security in Jira Cloud, then select it from the list.
Select Get app, then Get it now.
If you have just installed the app, select Get started. Otherwise, from the top navigation, go to Apps > Manage your apps > Snyk Security in Jira> Get started.
Select Continue.
Select Snyk Security in Jira, then Next.
Log in to your Snyk account, or sign up for a new Snyk account.
Select Grant access to allow Snyk to read your Jira Software account information.
Select a Snyk group or a specific Snyk organization to connect to your Jira site, and select Grant app access.
To track GitHub vulnerabilities in Jira, you need to add Snyk Security in Jira to a project. When you’re back in Jira Software:
You need project administrator permissions to to add Snyk Security in Jira to a project.
From your project's sidebar, go to Project settings > Toolchain.
Select Add, then Add tool.
Find Snyk Security in Jira, then select Add to project.
The final stage is to connect security containers (Snyk targets) to your project.
You need project administrator permissions to connect security containers.
From your project's sidebar, go to Project settings > Toolchain.
Select Snyk in the list of tools.
Select the add connection button () for Snyk.
Choose one or more containers from the list and select Add container.
Your team can now use the security feature to view recent vulnerabilities found in the linked security containers, and start linking them to issues.
