Resolve pre-flight errors with remediation

When you run pre-migration checks in the Jira Cloud Migration Assistant (JCMA), you may encounter errors that prevent your migration from proceeding. Without having to start over or making changes to your Data Center instance, the remediation feature lets you fix these errors directly from the migration assistant, so you can get your migration back on track faster.

What is remediation?

Before you migrate your data, the Jira Cloud Migration Assistant runs a set of pre-migration checks to make sure your data can be migrated to the cloud. Read about pre-migration checks

Pre-migration checks identify issues in your source Jira instance that could lead to data loss or a migration failure. Some of these errors are remediable. You can fix them from within the migration assistant rather than manually modifying your source data.

Remediations can be applied differently based on the phase of your migration.

Situation 1: As part of your first migration

During your first migration, data preparation errors can be resolved during the pre-migration checks.

Situation 2: As part of future migrations

After your first successful migration, you will be able to apply remediations from your previous migration.

To view remediation details from your previous migration:

  1. アトラシアン管理に移動します。

  2. Under Data management, select Remediations.

As more successful migrations occur, the Migration Assistant can apply remediations learned from past migrations. You can either apply remediations to a new migration or copy remediation files to a cloud site to resolve data errors.

If a remediation is already being processed for a migration plan, the Remediations page will be locked until the current remediation is completed. This prevents conflicts from parallel remediation submissions.

Troubleshoot remediation issues

The remediation screen is locked

A remediation or preflight check is already running for a migration plan. Wait for it to complete, then try again. If the lock persists, contact your administrator or contact Atlassian Support.

Pre-migration checks still show errors after I added remediations

Select Re-run checks to refresh the results. If errors persist, check the Remediations page in Atlassian Administration to confirm if your selected remediation file contains the values you require. Applying the remediation files doesn’t guarantee that all errors in the pre-migration are resolved. Your new migration may contain errors that were not present in previous migrations.
