What is a space policy?
A space policy lets Jira admins standardize fields and statuses across spaces, making it easier to track and report on work across teams.

Space policies let you define guardrails for team-managed spaces without removing teams' ability to self-serve. When a space policy is active, it prevents space admins from creating their own fields and statuses. Instead, team-managed spaces can only use fields and statuses that are available in all spaces on their Jira site.

Create a space policy to apply a consistent set of fields and statuses across multiple team-managed spaces in your Jira site.
Resolve space policy conflicts
Identify conflicts when existing fields or statuses don’t align with a space policy applied to your Jira space.
Update references after applying a space policy
Update automations, workflows, filters, and boards after migrating fields or statuses to match a space policy.
