Create Jira work items from Trello cards
You can create a Jira work item directly from a Trello card. When you do, Trello creates a new Jira work item and adds a Link card to your board so you can open it from Trello.
使用する場面
Use this when a task on your Trello card needs more structure, collaboration, or visibility — for example, when it's evolving from a personal to-do into a piece of team work that needs tracking in Jira.

This feature is available on the Trello web app for regular Trello cards only. It is not supported on Link cards, Mirror cards, Trello Desktop apps, or when using Firefox or Safari browsers.
If you don't have a Jira account yet, you can create one right from Trello during the work item creation flow.
Create a Jira work item from the card front
Open your Trello board.
Open the card front menu on a regular card.
[Jira 作業項目作成] を選択します。
Create a Jira work item from the card back
Open a regular Trello card.
Select the More Actions menu (…).
[Jira 作業項目作成] を選択します。
Fill out the Jira work item
When the work item form opens, some fields are pre-filled from your Trello card. You can edit any field before creating the work item.
The following fields are pre-filled:
Site – pre-filled with the linked Jira site when one is available
Space – based on the selected site
Work type – defaults to Task
Status – defaults to To Do
What gets copied from your Trello card
Trello maps the following card fields to the new Jira work item:
Trello カード | Jira work item |
|---|---|
Card name | 要約 |
カードの説明 | 説明 |
Work item creator | 報告者 |
Attached - Links | Web Links |
期限 | 期限 |
Attachments are not copied when you create the work item.
What happens after you create the work item
After you select Create, a new Link card appears on your Trello board right below your original card. This isn't a duplicate — it's a connected view of your Jira work item that lets you:
View and edit key fields like status and priority directly from the card front.
Expand the card to see and edit the full Jira work item without leaving Trello.
Open the work item in Jira in a new tab if you'd like the full Jira experience.
The original Trello card and the new Jira Link card are also linked to each other, so you can navigate between them easily.
Why are there two cards
Your original Trello card stays on the board alongside the new Jira Link card. This is intentional — it gives you the flexibility to decide what works best for your workflow:
Keep both to retain your original card for reference, while managing and updating Jira directly within Trello.
Archive the original Trello card if you'd prefer the Jira Link card to be the single source of truth going forward.
Archive the Jira Link card if you want the ticket to live in Jira without cluttering Trello.
To archive a card, open it and select Archive from the menu.
Permissions and access
To create a Jira work item, you'll need access to a Jira site and space. If you don't have one yet, you'll be guided through a quick setup.
Other Trello board members will see the Jira Link card on the board. To view any Jira content, they'll need access to the same Jira site. If they don't, they can request access from the Link card.
If you're not interested in creating Jira work items from Trello, you can dismiss the prompt:
When the suggestion pop-up appears, select Dismiss to close it.
Once dismissed, the prompt won't reappear for that context.
Dismissing this doesn't affect your Trello experience or remove any existing functionality — it simply hides the suggestion.

I don't see Create Jira work item on my card
Check that you're using a regular Trello card. This option is only available on regular cards.
I see my original Trello card and a new Jira card
This is expected. Trello adds a separate Link card for the new Jira work item alongside your original card.
I can only see limited details on the Jira Link card
You may not have access to the related Jira site or work item. Jira may prompt you to join the site or request access.
I was taken through Jira setup before creating the work item
This is expected if you're new to Jira. See Before you begin above for more details.
