Remove a test

There may be times in which you want or need to remove a test from the current list of tests. This could be due to the test needing to be reconfigured or updated, or if a test has become stale. You may also want or need to reset the execution history, which can be done by removing tests and then adding them back to the list.

If you add a test that has been removed back to the list, that test’s executions and data will be maintained from that point forward just as it was before it was removed.

  1. In the repository where you want to remove the test, select Tests on the left sidebar navigation.

  2. Select the Actions (…) dropdown menu associated with the test you want to remove.

  3. Select Remove test from the dropdown list.

  4. Select Remove in the Remove test from test list? dialog.

Test Cleanup

As part of the test removal process, you can also have an AI agent remove the test from the codebase.

Enable test cleanup

You must be a workspace administrator to enable Test Cleanup.

  1. Select the Settings cog , and then select Workspace settings.

  2. Select AI, and then select Agentic pipelines.

  3. Select the Test Cleanup toggle, and then select the Enable button on the Enable “Test Cleanup” agent dialog. Note: The toggle should be green and have a checkmark when it is enabled.

Clean up a test from the codebase with AI

Using AI to remove a test from the codebase ensures the build stays green, and opens a draft Pull Request removing the obsolete test.

  1. Select Tests from within the repository on the left sidebar.

  2. Select the Actions … dropdown menu associated to the test you want to optimize.

  3. Select Remove test.

  4. Select the Also clean up this test from the codebase with AI checkbox.

  5. Select the branch, if necessary, and add any additional information for the AI agent in the Custom instructions text field.

  6. Select the Remove button.

Once the test has been removed, you can access the pull request that was created to remove this test by going to the Pull requests page and selecting the appropriate pull request.
