Allow dashboards and filters in your site to be shared publicly

Standard, Premium, and Enterprise Jira sites can share filters and dashboards publicly.

To share dashboards and filters with the public, a Jira admin must first allow it at the site level. Changing this setting doesn’t automatically share any data; it only allows users to share their filters and dashboards with the public.

To allow sharing of dashboards and filters from your site:

  1. Select Settings (), then System.

  2. Select General configuration, then choose Edit settings.

  3. Under the Options header, turn Public sharing on.

  4. Select Update to save your changes.

Turning Public sharing off prevents new and not-yet-shared dashboards and filters from being shared. It does not restrict any filters or dashboards that have already been shared.

To stop sharing data from a previously-public site, check which filters and dashboards have been shared, then update their visibility settings.

You can go one step further and make all new filters and dashboards in your site public by changing the default access level:

  1. Select Settings (), then System.

  2. Select Default user preferences in the side navigation, then choose Edit default values.

  3. Set Default access to Public.

  4. Select Update to save your changes.
