Care about security? We do too. Learn what Atlassian does and what you can do too.
At the point a user publishes or updates a Confluence page, we scan the text, and generate an alert if any of the text matches a content scanning detection, including custom content scanning detections.
There may be situations where you want to exclude particular pages from a content scanning detection. This may be because the page regularly generates false positive alerts, or there may be a legitimate reason for the page to contain sensitive data. For example, a page that contains test credit card or bank account numbers.
Who can do this? |
If you’ve investigated an alert and determined that it’s a false positive, you can choose to exclude the page from that detection so it won’t generate alerts in future.
To exclude a page from an alert:
In Guard Detect, select the alert.
In the recommended remediation steps, select Exclude page.
Confirm the page details, and select Exclude page.
The page will be added to the list of excluded pages for that detection. You can remove the page from the list of excluded pages at any time.
If you know in advance that a page should not generate alerts, you can choose to exclude it from the detection itself. This is particularly useful for custom content scanning detections where you know in advance which pages it's appropriate for the terms to be used.
To exclude a page from the detection:
In Guard Detect, select Detections > Content Scanning from the header.
Select the detection you want to add an exclusion for.
Select View exclusions.
Select Exclude page.
Enter the Page URL. The page details will appear.
Confirm the page details, and select Exclude page.
The page will be added to the list of excluded pages for that detection. You can remove the page from the list of excluded pages at any time.
At any time you can remove pages from the list of excluded pages.
To remove an exclusion:
In Guard Detect, select Detections > Content Scanning from the header.
Select the detection you want to add an exclusion for.
Select View exclusions.
Select Remove next to the page you want to remove.
The page will be removed from the list of excluded pages. This means alerts will be generated for this page.
