Archive a classification level

You can stop using a classification level by archiving it.

When you archive a published classification level, users won’t be able to classify pages and issues at that level anymore. All pages and issues classified at this level will become unclassified, unless the spaces or projects they belong to have a default classification level that’s not the one that was archived. What is a default classification level?

However, those pages and issues will retain a history of this classification level. In the event that the classification level is restored and published again, those pages and issues will regain this classification level.

Archive a classification level

To archive a classification level:

  1. Go to admin.atlassian.com. Select your organization if you have more than one.

  2. Select Security > Data classification.

  3. Select the More actions menu (•••) next to the classification level you want to archive.
    Alternatively, navigate to the classification level you want to archive and select the More actions menu (•••) on that page.

  4. Select Archive.

You can have up to 50 classification levels.

View archived classification levels

To find archived classification levels:

  1. Go to admin.atlassian.com. Select your organization if you have more than one.

  2. Select Security > Data classification.

  3. Select the More actions menu (•••) near the Create classification level button.

  4. Select View archived levels.
