Apps that cannot be blocked by app access rules

System apps

System apps supplied by Atlassian can't be blocked by app access rules. System apps are bundled with Confluence and Jira and provide core functionality.

User-installed apps

Certain user-installed apps available from the Atlassian Marketplace can't be blocked by app access rules. These are detailed in the sections below.

Apps that use Atlassian API tokens or Atlassian credentials to access data

In accordance with our Security requirements for cloud apps, apps must not collect or store credentials belonging to Atlassian user accounts such as user passwords or user API tokens. However, app developers (partners) can notify Atlassian and receive a temporary waiver for this requirement. These apps can’t be blocked by app access rules.

The following Confluence apps have received a waiver from Atlassian to use API tokens or Atlassian credentials to access data:

Apps in the Atlassian DevOps Ecosystem that integrate with Atlassian products

We believe that apps in the Atlassian DevOps Ecosystem are essential for many of our customers' highest-priority workflows and that blocking these could have adverse effects on critical business processes. However, if you have a need to be able to control app access for any of these apps, please get in touch with our team by submitting a support ticket.

Apps without links and ‘(Archived)’ apps in the list below are no longer for sale.

The following apps cannot be blocked:

Certain apps that are moving to Atlassian’s next-generation development platform, Forge

Certain apps that have been updated recently by the partner cannot be blocked by an app access rule at this time. We intend to provide the ability to block these apps in the near future.

For now, if you add an app access rule to a policy, and apply it to one or more of the following apps, some functions of the app are not blocked by the app access rule:
