Enable or disable data classification rules
Before you enable or disable data classification rules, make sure you understand how data classifications work.
Who can do this? |
Enable data classification rules
If you haven’t configured classification rules yet, check that you’ve already set up your data classification levels.
To enable data classification rules:
Go to Atlassian Administration. Select your organization if you have more than one.
Select Security > Data protection > Data classification.
Select the Classification rules tab.
Select Edit rules.
Follow the prompts to complete your setup.
If you need more help with the prompts or setting up data classification rules, see Configure data classification rules
Disable all data classification rules
If you’re disabling all data classification rules, make sure you’ve checked for any existing rules. When you disable the Classification rules setting, all rules will stop running, and all existing classifications that were applied by these rules will be removed from content objects. Content objects may become unclassified.
Alternatively, you can disable and edit individual rules through the Classification rules tab. Configure data classification rules
If you’re sure that you wish to stop using data classification rules altogether, you can use this setting.
To disable data classification rules:
Go to Atlassian Administration. Select your organization if you have more than one.
Select Security > Data protection > Data classification.
Select the Settings tab to display a list of settings.
Select the Classification rules setting.
From the slide-out panel, uncheck the checkbox to disable data classification rules functionality.
Select Update, then Update again to confirm your choice.
