  • Account executive: Your main commercial and relationship contact, aligning Atlassian Government Cloud solutions, pricing, and contracts to your agency’s needs. They coordinate with your technical and migration teams to ensure the engagement meets your goals and timelines.

  • Solution Engineer: Offers technical and architectural guidance, helping assess your environment, define requirements, and design a secure, scalable setup. They work with your team to validate solutions, identify risks, and ensure the migration plan fits your needs.

  • Migration Support Engineer: Provides expert high-touch technical support for the migration of data, working directly with internal teams to address and resolve any technical challenges.

  • Cloud Migration Manager: A free Atlassian service for Government Cloud migrations. Your main contact for coordinating timelines, stakeholders, and activities, they provide expert guidance on compliance needs like FedRAMP, and help you plan, test, and validate your migration.

  • Solution Partner (Optional): Can optionally provide hands-on implementation and configuration support, working with your team and Atlassian to execute the migration plan, optimize setup, and minimize risk and downtime.

This team will partner with you throughout the engagement, ensuring a smooth migration to the cloud. They will tailor your experience to your unique needs, helping you smoothly migrate your Atlassian self-managed product data to Atlassian Cloud.

Assess

We’ll schedule a call to discuss and confirm the information needed to tailor the migration process to your needs.

Plan

You’ll collaborate with us to define a mutually agreed-upon scope. This scope will include, but is not limited to, the requirements, objectives, and prioritization of your migration. If any changes to that scope arise during the migration, you can discuss them with your migration team.

Prep

Complete the pre-migration checklist

You’ll complete the pre-migration checklist to make sure all necessary preparations are made for a smooth migration. Once complete, you’ll submit the report for Atlassian to review.

Data cleanup

You’ll follow our tailored guidance to optimize your data and ensure it’s ready for a smooth migration. This includes performing any necessary backups.

Review

We’ll examine your pre-migration report and address any clarifying questions to ensure we are well-prepared for the next steps. We'll also confirm that you have active, paid subscriptions or entitlements to Atlassian (and any other) products.

Test

Test migration

Our dedicated migration support team will support you through each test migration pass. Our teams will work with you to build out a robust and thorough Migration runbook and mitigate any errors to ensure successful end-to-end testing.

User Acceptance Testing (UAT)

You’ll conduct UAT and share any remaining concerns with the migration team. Read about UAT

Additional testing

If necessary, additional test migration may be required to ensure everything is ready for the production migration.

Customer approval

Once you’re satisfied, you’ll sign off and proceed with the production migration. You will confirm a production migration date and communicate any necessary migration downtime or change freeze to your stakeholders.

You’ll migrate the data using our migration tooling, with our migration team supporting you along the way.

Validation

Once the migration is complete, you’ll execute your final UAT pass to validate the results.

We’ll collaborate to wrap up any remaining tasks to ensure everything is running smoothly.

We’ll address any post-migration issues within the agreed scope.
