Troubleshoot product links

This page describes troubleshooting information for updating product links.

Common problems

If an update is in progress for too long, it might be caused by an ongoing backup. To get more details, complete these steps:

  1. Download the history report and check the status of the latest link update.

Status is Backup:

The backup might have been started separately by an admin or automation, not necessarily your link update. In large instances, a backup can even take a few days.

  1. Go to the product you’re updating. In administration, find the Backup manager.

  2. If the backup is in progress, wait until it’s complete or contact Support to cancel it.

Status is In progress:

Verify whether your link update is progressing.

  1. Check the values of Updated links and Failed links in the report.

  2. Wait some time. Next, download another history report and compare the results.

  3. If the number of links changed, everything is good. If not, contact Atlassian support.

If the number of failed links is high and retrying doesn’t help, contact Atlassian Support. We might be able to update those links or explain what you need to do to resolve the problem.
