Edit a data security policy
Data security policies allow you to control how your organization’s data is shared with users and apps. What is a data security policy?
If your organization’s security needs change, you can edit an existing policy.
Who can do this? |
Rename a policy
To change the name of a policy:
Go to Atlassian Administration. Select your organization if you have more than one.
Select Security > Data security policies.
Select the policy.
Select the More actions icon (•••) > Edit.
Update the name and description then Save.
Change policy coverage
When editing the coverage of a data security policy, you will be able to see the space or project name and avatar covered by an existing policy, even if you don’t have permission to access the content within the space or project. To view the content (pages and issues) contained within these spaces and projects, you’ll need to be granted permission.
To change which data is covered by the policy:
Go to Atlassian Administration. Select your organization if you have more than one.
Select Security > Data security policies.
Select the policy.
Select the Coverage card.
Follow the prompts to add or remove selected data then Save.
Limits
There are some limits to be aware of:
If the policy covers entire products, you can select a maximum of 50 different product instances.
If the policy covers spaces and projects, you can select items from a maximum of 15 different product instances. We limit you to 15 items (spaces or projects) from each product instance. If you need to cover more items than this, you can create another policy.
You can have a maximum of 50 policies in your organization.
Change policy rules
To change which rules are enforced by the policy:
Go to Atlassian Administration. Select your organization if you have more than one.
Select Security > Data security policies.
Select the policy.
Select the policy rule you want to change.
Follow the prompts to configure or remove the rule then select Save.
If the policy is active, it may take a few moments for rules to be enforced.
