Deactivate or delete a data security policy

Data security policies are currently only available through our early access program (EAP). If you’re not part of the program, this feature will be available from June 2023.

At times you may want to deactivate a data security policy. Deactivating a policy will temporarily stop any policy rules from being enforced on products covered by the policy. When a policy is deactivated, it becomes inactive.

Alternatively, deleting a policy will permanently delete the policy and any policy rule configurations associated with the policy.

Deactivate a policy

To temporarily stop policy rules from being enforced on products covered by a policy:

  1. Go to admin.atlassian.com. Select your organization if you have more than one.

  2. Select Security > Data security policies.

  3. Select the policy.

  4. Select Deactivate policy.

Delete a policy

To delete a policy permanently:

  1. Go to admin.atlassian.com. Select your organization if you have more than one.

  2. Select Security > Data security policies.

  3. Select the policy.

  4. Select the More actions icon (•••).

  5. Select Delete.
