Display name is currently restricted to customers enrolled in the Beta trial of the Assets common data model. Some details may change before general availability.
To create an attribute in Assets, you must be logged in as an Assets admin with Jira or Jira Service Management access or have Object Schema Manager permissions.
From the app switcher, select Assets.

In the attribute listing, enter a Display name for the attribute — this is the name shown to users — then set the Description, Type, and Type Value. Assets derives a system Name from it (AQL uses the attribute Name, not its Display name); you can edit the derived Name before saving.
