Mode of connection

The mode of connection refers to how a data source fetches data into Data Manager. There are two methods:

1. Cloud-to-cloud (cloud-enabled) — For supported data sources, the fetch can be triggered directly from within the Data Manager UI without installing or running the local Adapters client. No local infrastructure is needed.

2. Data Manager Adapters client — The traditional method where a locally-installed client runs on your network, behind the firewall, to pull data from on-prem or local sources and push it into Data Manager.
