Configure an API-based data source
Data Manager is included in all Service Collection Premium and Enterprise plans.
Use an API‑based data source to bring data into Data Manager from a tool that exposes an API.
This task requires Data Manager Adapters admin permissions.
Add an API‑based data source
From the app switcher, select Assets.
Select Data Manager in the sidebar.
Select Object classes.
Select the Show data sources button beside the desired object class
Select + Add.
Under Third-Party Apps, select the API‑based tool you want to connect.
Click Next.
Different Third-Party apps require different fields (for example, base URL, credentials, tokens, timeouts, limits).
To configure an API‑based data source:
Complete all required (
*) fields before clicking Configure your data source.Refer to the adapter‑specific page under Learn about data sources for details of:
required fields (API URL, client ID, client secret, tokens, etc.)
authentication and authorisation steps
API calls used
fields retrieved from the tool
Any secure values entered (passwords, secrets, tokens) are encrypted and displayed as ********************. You can delete and re‑enter them when editing the data source.
