Add a schema reference

Assets is included with Service Collection Paid plans (Standard, Premium, and Enterprise). What Assets is and how it works.

Display name is currently restricted to customers enrolled in the Beta trial of the Assets common data model. Some details may change before general availability.

Schema references that apply to all schemas in Assets (called global references) can be created by an Assets admin with Jira or Jira Service Management access.

You can also create references to an individual schema, and you must also have Object Schema Manager permissions to do so.

Create references for all schemas

  1. From the app switcher, select Assets.

  2. Select Settings ().

  3. From your sidebar, select Global references.

  4. Select Create a reference.

  5. Enter a Display name for the reference — this is the name shown to users — then a Description and Color. Assets derives a system Name from it for use in AQL and automations; you can edit the derived Name before saving.

  6. Select Create.

Create references for an individual schema

  1. From the app switcher, select Assets.

  2. Select an object schema.

  3. Select Schema settings.

  4. Under the Reference types tab, select Create a reference.

  5. Enter a Display name for the reference — this is the name shown to users — then a Description and Color. Assets derives a system Name from it for use in AQL and automations; you can edit the derived Name before saving.

  6. Select Create.
